After leaving the Valley of the Giants, we decided to stop at the Walpole information centre, or, as we like to call it, “Lisa and Jo’s retail therapy stop.”

We're not entirely sure what treasures they unearthed, but they emerged looking pleased with their purchases. The Walpole-Nornalup Visitor Centre is surprisingly well-stocked with local artisan goods and information – handy, especially if one is looking for, say, a handcrafted wooden spoon or a map of walking trails.
From Walpole, we journeyed onward to Manjimup. Feeling a bit peckish, and after consulting online reviews (as one does in this day and age), we opted to have lunch at Bread and Butter.

It’s a deceptively simple name, but the food was anything but. Milke declared the chicken burger to be the second-best he’s ever had, an accolade reserved only for the burger we sampled at Duckett's in Denmark.

We must admit, they know how to make a good burger. It was certainly a step up from our usual sandwiches!
Lunch concluded, we continued our journey toward Bridgetown. The next stop was Ooh La Lollipop, a confectionery shop where "sweet therapy" was prescribed for all. Lisa opted for the chocolate-coated licorice, while I went for the rocky road. One cannot simply pass through Bridgetown without indulging in some sort of sugary treat; it’s practically a local ordinance.
It was here, in Bridgetown, amidst the colourful displays of lollipops and fudge, that we bid farewell to Mike and Jo. They turned toward home, while we turned right, embarking on the next leg of our journey. The open road beckoned, and we had places to be.
