After four days at Riverbend Caravan and Chalets, nestled near Denmark, we've had time to form a considered opinion. Our initial impression, on arrival, was admittedly a little hesitant. The signage and general aesthetic gave off a distinctly "lived-in" vibe. Perhaps bordering on "endearing neglect."

The weathered signs, slightly askew, promised a rustic experience.
However, what initially seemed like a lack of polish quickly morphed into something rather charming. Riverbend possesses a certain unpretentious quality that many modern, overly manicured parks lack.

It felt genuinely relaxing. The grounds were well-maintained, if not perfectly manicured, with plenty of established trees providing ample shade.
The caravan sites were generously sized, allowing for a comfortable setup. We had plenty of room to deploy our awning and enjoy the outdoor space without feeling cramped.

The other visitors were friendly, and the atmosphere was generally peaceful and quiet.
For those preferring more solid accommodation, Riverbend also offers a selection of self-contained chalets. They appeared comfortable and well-equipped, judging by the glimpses we caught.

One unexpected highlight was the resident flock of chickens.

They roamed freely during the day, adding a touch of rural character. We never managed to snag any freshly laid eggs, sadly.
Overall, our stay at Riverbend was a pleasant surprise. While it may not appeal to those seeking pristine, resort-style facilities, we found its rustic charm and relaxed atmosphere to be quite appealing. If you appreciate a more laid-back, down-to-earth experience, Riverbend is certainly worth considering.
