After enjoying a pleasant walk along the river, a visit to a chocolate factory seemed only logical. After all, one needs to replenish energy somehow! Fortunately, Denmark offers a selection of three chocolate shops. Having already sampled the wares of the other two, we felt duty-bound to explore this one.

Upon entering, the aroma was, predictably, divine. We promptly ordered a steaming mug of hot chocolate.

It was the perfect antidote to the mild chill in the air. Naturally, we also had to purchase some Rocky Road, one of my favourite treats, for later consumption.

We must pace ourselves, after all.

What truly surprised us, however, was the thoughtfully curated garden located just outside the shop's entrance.

Plaques were strategically placed amidst the lush greenery, providing informative snippets about the history of chocolate production, dating all the way back to 500 BC. It was quite fascinating, and we learned a great deal about the origins and evolution of this beloved confection. Who knew a chocolate shop could also offer a history lesson? We found that to be a rather clever concept.
