After the tranquil beauty of Greens Pool, we decided to explore further along the coast.

A short walk brought us to Elephant Cove and the famed Elephant Rocks. We must admit, the name is quite apt. These enormous granite formations do indeed resemble a herd of elephants wading in the turquoise waters. It’s quite a visual spectacle, and we spent a good while simply taking it all in.
Continuing our walk, we followed the marked trail, enjoying the coastal scenery.

It's always a pleasure to witness the power and beauty of nature in such a raw and accessible way. We eventually came to a set of stairs that seemed to offer a shortcut back to the car park.

However, we soon discovered that our shortcut was anything but. The bottom of the stairs led to a beach…a beach currently submerged by the tide. There was no way to continue through the rocks. Slightly damp feet were the only reward for our efforts. With good grace, we trudged back up the stairs. A valuable lesson, perhaps: shortcuts are rarely shorter.

We managed one final photograph overlooking Greens Pool.

Despite our little detour, we were left with a lasting impression of the area’s beauty. It’s a wonderful spot to spend a morning or afternoon, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Denmark. Then, with memories captured (both in our minds and on our cameras), we headed back to the car, ready for the next leg of our journey.
