After a couple of days of exploring Albany, we decided we simply could not leave without one final visit to the Three Anchors. Mike was particularly keen to return and sample their Biscoff cheesecake – a mission we wholeheartedly supported. Mike and I gave the London Fog a try, a rather intriguing concoction of Earl Grey tea in milk with a touch of vanilla.

The aroma alone was enough to convince us it was a worthwhile pursuit.

We sat at an outside table where we had enjoyed the sunshine.

As it turned out, the coffee and tea selection required, in our estimation, a serious and concerted effort from all of us. We reasoned that since we were about to be back on the road, a final celebratory coffee and cheesecake were absolutely essential.

And so it was that we found ourselves presented with a rather impressive array of sweets. In addition to the aforementioned Biscoff cheesecake, there was a lemon tart, and another cake we failed to identify, but sampled with enthusiasm.

We passed around forks, debated the merits of each dessert, and collectively agreed that Albany had certainly left a sweet taste in our mouths. With caffeine levels appropriately elevated and sugar cravings thoroughly satisfied, we felt ready to continue our ramblings through Oz. Next stop: Esperance.
