Following our reflective visit to the Desert Mounted Corps memorial, we decided to continue our exploration of Albany's historical sites with a return to the National Anzac Centre. We recalled visiting many years prior, but were keen to see how the exhibitions had been updated.

The changes are certainly impressive. The museum has been expanded and the displays are now more interactive and informative than we remember. The design is thoughtful and moving, providing a respectful and immersive experience. We spent a considerable amount of time moving through the various exhibits, learning more about the experiences of Australian soldiers during World War One.

The Centre is built on the Princess Royal Fortress, a series of fortifications that defended Albany. We noticed some of the original structures had been preserved and incorporated into the museum, which added another layer of depth to our visit. Lisa and Jo experienced some difficulties navigating the staircases in this area and were thankful for the thoughtfully placed handrails.

It's always a good idea to take things slowly on uneven surfaces.

Before departing, we made sure to take photographs of the charming visitor's centre. This building has been beautifully restored and adds to the overall atmosphere of the site.

Refreshed from our exploration, we looked forward to our next adventure.
