As the day draws near, the excitement in our household is almost palpable. We are in the midst of our final preparations for our trip to the Rainbow Coast, a region we have loved. It's a slightly different dynamic this time, as we are not travelling alone. Lisa's sister, Jo, and her husband, Mike, are joining us. They, however, will be enjoying a more conventional accommodation experience, opting for cabins while we are snug in our home away from home. We trust they will manage to survive without the benefits of ensuite facilities and ample storage.

We are keen to see the region's dramatic coastlines and towering forests, and we’re eager to experience it again.

The Rainbow Coast boasts a unique blend of historical significance and natural beauty. Albany, with its rich colonial past and strategic importance, promises a fascinating glimpse into Western Australia's heritage. And of course, Denmark, renowned for its cool-climate wineries and stunning landscapes, is sure to offer a delightful sensory experience. We are particularly keen to sample some of the local wines – purely for research purposes, naturally.

We find that careful planning is essential for a smooth trip. We have double-checked our packing lists, confirmed our reservations, and stocked up on all the essentials (including, of course, a good supply of tea). It helps to have a schedule; it stops Lisa from directing the trip. We anticipate a memorable journey filled with breathtaking scenery, interesting encounters, and maybe a few good stories.
