Well, our last day in this coastal locale has arrived, and the weather has decided to be slightly more agreeable. After several days of battling the elements, we welcomed the change.

The plan was to experience the local markets down on the foreshore; a chance to pick up a few local trinkets and perhaps some provisions for the journey home. Alas, upon arrival, we discovered that the markets were not in operation today. It seems our timing was slightly off, and we inadvertently stumbled upon preparations for the upcoming Crab Festival. One must admire the dedication to crustacean celebration.
Undeterred, we decided to make the most of the morning and embark on a leisurely walk along the foreshore.

It was a pleasant outing, all things considered. Lisa certainly enjoyed herself, though her shopping was confined to the visual variety. She explored the shops, admired the displays, but somehow managed to keep her wallet firmly in her handbag. I suspect this is some sort of highly developed skill, honed over years of practice. I, on the other hand, mostly observed the marine traffic and the local birdlife.

There's something rather calming about being by the water, even when the primary purpose of the outing is thwarted. The gentle lapping of the waves, the cries of the gulls, it all contribute to a sense of tranquillity. And of course, one must appreciate the simple pleasure of a good walk.

Having adequately exercised our legs and filled our lungs with fresh air, we decided to head back to our temporary accommodation. A nap seemed in order, followed by a simple lunch. The afternoon promises to be one of quiet relaxation, a fitting end to our stay. We will, of course, need the rest before the long drive to Perth.

One can only hope the traffic gods are kind.
