Waking up at Sandy Cape this morning was a quiet reminder of why we're out here doing what we do. That first light—the way it catches the dunes and spreads long golden shadows across the camp—it's the kind of moment that makes you reach for the camera before you've even properly woken up.

Lisa and I spent another night out of the van, opting for the swags on stretchers to catch the coastal breeze. It's all part of the learning process as we dial in our setup, finding that balance between enjoying the luxury and comfort of the Whitehaven and simply being out in the elements. There's something about sleeping under the stars with just canvas between you and the night sky that the caravan, as comfortable as it is, can't quite replicate.

Looking toward the water at first light, the bay was a perfect mirror, reflecting the stillness before the day heats up. The turquoise shallows were so calm you could see every ripple, every gentle movement of the tide. It's these moments—quiet, golden, and perfectly still—that make all the miles worth it.
We've set up in a lovely spot here, tucked in among the coastal vegetation with enough shade from the spreading trees to keep things comfortable through the middle of the day. The Ram and van are positioned just right, awning out, camp chairs facing the sunset. It's become second nature now, this process of arriving somewhere new and creating our little home for a few nights.

The coastline around Sandy Cape is pristine—white sand, rocky limestone formations, and that particular quality of light you only seem to get on the WA coast. We've had the place largely to ourselves, which is exactly how we like it. A long walk along the beach this afternoon, watching the light change as evening approached, was about as perfect as it gets.

Tonight we'll be back in the swags, listening to the gentle sound of the waves and watching the stars come out. This is the freedom we were chasing when we decided to hit the road full-time, and moments like this morning's sunrise remind us we made exactly the right choice.
