The landscape around Kwolyin, Western Australia, has a certain appeal, especially when you've been on the road for as long as we have. It’s often the little things, like a quiet campsite or a surprisingly clear sky, that make the biggest difference.
This particular evening, it was a bit of both. We found a spot just outside of town, far enough to feel secluded, but close enough that civilization (and coffee) was within easy reach. We were setting up for our last night on the road before we get back to Perth when we noticed the sky putting on a bit of a show.

A full rainbow arced over our campsite, from the trees to the east and arcing over the bushland. The dry grass surrounding us, normally just a mundane backdrop, was suddenly bathed in the light of the setting sun and the colors of the rainbow. It's amazing how a simple weather event can elevate the ordinary.
We've seen a lot of beautiful places on our travels, but sometimes it’s the unexpected moments, the little surprises, that stay with you the longest. And sometimes, as we are often reminded, it's good to be heading home.
