Eaglestone Rock, just outside Nungarin, Western Australia, has become a familiar, welcome sight. This Easter long weekend found us settling in for another free camp, a brief pause before our final leg home. It's surprising how quickly these trips fly by; it seems like just yesterday we were packing.
The landscape here has a certain stark beauty, a quiet strength. The salt lake reflects the sky with surprising accuracy, mirroring the shifting cloud formations.

The air is crisp, clean, and carries that distinctive scent of the Australian bush – a smell that instantly puts us at ease. We always enjoy getting back to nature!
Of course, the real showstopper this evening was the sunset.

The sky erupted in a riot of colour, painting the clouds in shades of orange, gold, and fiery red. Even the normally drab landscape seemed to take on a vibrant glow. We sat and watched, mesmerised, as the sun dipped below the horizon, another day ending spectacularly. It is moments like these, out in nature, that make all the long drives worthwhile. The peace, the beauty, and the simple joy of being together.

We feel lucky.
