Our visit to Kalgoorlie has been, shall we say, eye-opening. The scale of the mining operations is truly something to behold.

Our first stop was the Super Pit. It's not just a big hole in the ground; it's a testament to human ambition (and perhaps a touch of geological enthusiasm). The sheer size of it is staggering. You can spend hours watching the trucks crawl around, looking like ants in a vast, terraced landscape.
After that industrial spectacle, we took a stroll around Boulder, the historic part of town. The architecture is a delightful contrast to the modern mining landscape. We noticed a charming building that houses Orr's Emporium

, a step back in time.
We grabbed a bite at Goldfields Pastries.

Good pies and coffee, and a welcome respite from the dust. We also checked out Tippett's Cafe.

The Boulder Town Hall really caught our eye.

It stands as a proud symbol of the town's history. Kalgoorlie and Boulder are interesting places for any traveller.
