The sun rises early in Norseman, Western Australia, a perk of being this far east. After our overnight stay at the free camp, we decided to stretch our legs with a morning walk. It's always good to get the blood flowing, especially after a day of...well, sitting.
Norseman presents a rather dignified face to the early riser. The main street was quiet, still holding onto that pre-dawn peace.

We strolled past the Norseman Hotel, a grand old building that seems to have seen a fair share of history. It was a lovely contrast to the bright, modern welcome sign.
Further along, we came across a bronze statue of a horse, standing proudly on a little patch of artificial turf.

It was a curious sight, but we appreciated the artistry and the local pride it represented. It felt very much like a local statement, a place marker. We may have to investigate this horse a little further to understand its significance to Norseman's story.
The quiet stillness of the morning allowed us to truly appreciate the town's character. We always enjoy these sorts of small-town wanderings, discovering the little details that make each place unique. After our walk, we felt refreshed and ready for whatever the day might bring.
