We arrived in West Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, earlier than planned. Not because we rushed, mind you, but because fate, in the form of a rather persuasive pothole, had other ideas. It seems that our caravan tyres were no match for the rugged charm of the Goldfields Highway.

So, the morning was spent at a local tyre shop. The staff were friendly enough. We took the opportunity to stretch our legs and admire the local scenery. Mostly industrial estates, but even they have a certain gritty appeal if you look hard enough. The new tyres are now fitted, balanced, and we are ready to continue. We should have taken note of the tyre specs before, but we didn’t. This time we did so, so we know for the future.
