We found ourselves in the charming coastal community of Louth Bay, South Australia, a place seemingly built for relaxation and reflection. This particular day held a special significance; it was Steve’s birthday. Of course, no birthday is complete without a proper breakfast.

We started the day with a small stack of pancakes, a homemade affair adorned with fresh blueberries and a drizzle of chocolate. A simple, sweet start to what promised to be a day of simple pleasures.

The rest of the morning was ours to enjoy. A stroll along the beach, the gentle lapping of the waves, the cry of the gulls overhead – Louth Bay offered a tranquil backdrop to another trip around the sun. There's something quite refreshing about the unhurried pace of life here.

Come lunchtime, we decided to treat ourselves. We discovered a delightful little restaurant in nearby Port Lincoln, promising authentic Indian cuisine. It certainly didn’t disappoint. We indulged in a trio of curries, each with its own unique blend of spices and flavours. The rich aromas and vibrant colours were a feast for the senses. There was a bowl of butter chicken, a classic with its creamy, tomato-based sauce. A bowl of lamb rogan josh simmered in a rich, red sauce with flavorful spices. And a bowl of yellow rice to balance the flavours. It was the perfect birthday lunch.

Back in Louth Bay, the afternoon was spent simply enjoying the serenity of our surroundings. Sometimes, the best celebrations are the quiet ones. As the sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the sky with hues of orange and purple, we couldn't help but feel grateful for another year of shared adventures and the simple joys of life on the road.
