After the charming sights of Stansbury, we sought something a bit more off the beaten path. We found it at Point Souttar, South Australia, specifically at the Len Barker Reserve Bush Campground. It’s a free camp, which always appeals to our thrifty sensibilities, and offers views that are, quite simply, priceless.

The real highlight of our stay was the sunrise. Being right on the water’s edge, we had front-row seats to a spectacular display of light and colour. The golden hues gradually painted the sky, reflecting off the calm water. It was a breathtaking way to start the day. A lone bird flew across the rising sun.

We appreciated the rugged beauty of the location. The landscape around the campground is characterised by low-lying scrub and rocky outcrops. It’s not manicured, but it’s authentically Australian. It offers a quiet, contemplative atmosphere.

The view from our campsite extended back inland. We were situated close enough to the water to enjoy the gentle lapping of the waves. The Len Barker Reserve is a testament to the simple pleasures of travelling this vast country. It offers peace, quiet, and natural beauty in abundance. And that, for us, is what RamblinOz Travels is all about.
