After a couple of days of coastal exploration, we found ourselves drawn to the tranquil seaside town of Stansbury, South Australia. It’s the sort of place where time seems to slow down, and the only real hurry is in getting a good spot for the sunset.
Our arrival was marked by the unmistakable sight of the Stansbury water tower

. What struck us immediately was the fantastic mural. A massive pelican dominates one side, gazing out over the landscape with what we can only describe as a philosophical air. Above, playful dolphins leap and frolic, creating a vibrant scene that stands out against the otherwise utilitarian structure. It is a true testament to the power of art to transform the mundane into something truly special.
The foreshore at Stansbury is a delightful stretch of green space perfect for a relaxed lunch or a quiet afternoon spent watching the waves. The pier stretches out into the Spencer Gulf, promising potential for fishing or simply a stroll to clear the head.

. We took full advantage of the picnic facilities, enjoying a light lunch and a refreshing sea breeze.
Later, we were rewarded with a rare glimpse of local marine life. From our vantage point on the shore, we spotted a dolphin fin slicing through the water

. It was a fleeting moment, a reminder of the natural beauty that thrives just beneath the surface. A truly wonderful end to our stop in Stansbury.
