After a rather vigorous day battling the elements in Ardrossan – a hot and howling wind that threatened to peel the paint off anything stationary – we decided a change of scenery was in order. The plan? Head across to Point Victoria, hoping for a bit of respite from the relentless conditions.
We eventually found ourselves further down the coast in Point Pearce, South Australia. It was the sort of place that demanded we stop and simply breathe. The relentless wind had eased somewhat, and the air was thick with the scent of salt and the promise of tranquillity.

Lisa needed some quiet time to read, so she set herself up on the beach while the shadows lengthened.
The heat, while still present, felt less oppressive here, tempered by the proximity of the ocean.

The stark contrast of the bleached sand against the turquoise water was a balm for our weary souls. It was the sort of view that reminded us why we embarked on this journey in the first place. It wasn’t the destination, of course. It was about finding these little pockets of serenity along the way.
