It seems the road always knows when we need a bit of sugar. Today, while passing through Yankalilla, South Australia, we were drawn in by a brightly colored sign: "Lollies & More". We're generally not ones for overly sweet treats, but the promise of "more" was too intriguing to resist.
The shop itself is a classic small-town establishment, the kind that feels like it’s been there forever. We ourselves were impressed. It seems Yankalilla has a sweet tooth, and this establishment is more than happy to cater to it.
What struck us as particularly humorous was the dedicated company car.
It's a Smart car, and we must say it’s one of the cutest promotional vehicles we've ever seen. It was parked jauntily out front, painted with the shop’s logo and sporting a number plate that read "LOLLY 84". A clever touch, we thought.
We did purchase a few sweets for the road, though perhaps not as many as others. Yankalilla certainly offered a memorable and sugary diversion. It was a quick and entertaining stop, and we left with a smile (and maybe a slight sugar buzz).
