Our travels took us to Normanville, South Australia, a charming coastal town on the Fleurieu Peninsula. What we found was a refreshing blend of natural beauty and quiet community life. The air was crisp, the sky was impossibly blue, and the overall pace was a welcome change from the usual hustle.
One of the first things we noticed was the pristine beach. It stretches out seemingly forever, a wide expanse of fine, white sand. The water was remarkably clear, revealing patterns of seaweed just below the surface. We strolled along the shore, enjoying the gentle breeze and the sound of the waves.

The town itself is neatly presented with well-maintained walking paths that run parallel to the beach. We took a leisurely walk, appreciating the thoughtful landscaping and the views of the coastline. There's a playground along the path, and benches dotted about offering ample opportunity to sit and soak it all in.

It was a lovely area to spend a moment or two.
We enjoyed a picnic lunch near the beach. It was a beautiful day, and we found a table with a view. The local seagulls seemed quite interested in our sandwiches, but we managed to keep them at bay. We also noted the curious lagoon area next to the beach – fresh water running directly to the ocean, supporting a host of birdlife.

Of course, no visit is complete without a photo. We found an excellent spot overlooking the beach and captured a lovely picture. We must admit, one of us accidentally wandered into the frame. Retirement certainly agrees with her.

Normanville, provided us with a day of simple pleasures. It is a place that encourages relaxation and appreciation of the natural world. We can certainly recommend it as a worthwhile destination for anyone looking to escape the crowds.
