We're currently enjoying the generous hospitality of our friends, Greg and Sue, here in Monbulk, Victoria. It's a beautiful area, and the Dandenong Ranges are proving to be quite charming. However, even in paradise, the gremlins of technology sometimes find a way to intrude.
Our peaceful interlude took an unexpected turn when we discovered a rather inconvenient issue: the Redarc shunt in our electrical system had decided to give up the ghost. Now, for those unfamiliar with the intricacies of modern caravanning, the shunt is a vital component – a small but crucial piece of equipment that monitors the flow of electricity. When it fails, you're essentially flying blind in terms of your power consumption and battery status. Not ideal, to say the least.

Of course, these things always seem to happen at the most inopportune times. Thankfully, Greg is quite handy, so with a bit of collaborative effort, we managed to diagnose the problem and implement a temporary fix. We’re hoping it lasts until we can source a proper replacement. You know, the joys of the open road.

While a faulty shunt might not sound like the most thrilling adventure, it's a stark reminder that even the best-laid plans can be disrupted by the unpredictable nature of technology. On the bright side, it's given us a chance to appreciate the beauty of Monbulk, Victoria, a little bit more while we're stuck in place waiting for parts.
