Cowes, Victoria, certainly offered a pleasant diversion from our usual routine. After a couple of weeks on the road, it was a welcome change to park the vehicle and stretch our legs.

The main street is tidy, with a surprising variety of shops and cafes.
We found ourselves drawn to the coastline, naturally. It's what we tend to do. The rugged, reddish rocks jutting out into the sea were quite striking.

We even spotted some hardy individuals braving the waves for a swim, though we were content to observe from the shore, thank you very much.
The town has a few curious art installations scattered about, which is always a nice touch. One particular arrangement of what appears to be whitewashed sea creatures on a patch of synthetic turf caught our eye.

We pondered the meaning, as one does.
Taking a stroll along the beach offered some lovely views. The pier stood out as an ideal vantage point, with a glimpse of the channel's distant activity.

The bridge stretching across the water was quite impressive, especially when viewed from the sandy shoreline.
