Paynesville, Victoria, turned out to be a surprisingly pleasant detour. We initially stopped to stretch our legs and expected a brief respite, but the town charmed us into staying longer.

The first sign of promise was a restaurant called "Three Double8Zero" – a name that certainly piqued our interest. Pizza bar and grill? Alright, we'll bite.
But before diving into lunch, a quick sugar craving hit. Across the street, the same establishment offered a bakery section, and we couldn't resist the allure of scones.

Two scones arrived, piled high with jam and cream. They were the perfect antidote to a long morning. From our seats, we looked out over a calm waterway.

What a view!
After satisfying our sweet tooth, we explored the restaurant interior. The layout was spacious and inviting. Lisa even found a comfortable armchair to relax in.

The restaurant clearly sees a lot of traffic. A nice change of scenery from the road!
Before hitting the road, we wanted to get a breath of fresh air. We found a public park with some curious lounge chairs. Lisa had to try one out!

All in all, Paynesville exceeded our expectations. A great place to stop for a bite and a break.
