Our day in Bodalla, New South Wales, started with a craving for something sweet. Luckily, we found the Bodalla Dairy Shed

. We couldn't resist stopping for a scoop (or two) of their homemade ice cream. The shop itself is quite charming, with a couple of inviting deck chairs out front. It's a welcome splash of color on what was, frankly, a rather grey day.
After satisfying our sweet tooth, we decided to explore some of the town’s other offerings.

We are always on the lookout for the unusual and quirky. And it is not hard to find in small towns like Bodalla.
We stumbled upon All Saints Church, a magnificent stone structure overlooking the town

. The architecture is impressive, and we spent a good while admiring the craftsmanship. We ventured inside and were struck by the simple elegance of the interior

. The light filtering through the stained-glass windows cast a peaceful glow over the wooden pews.
Leaving the church, we were struck by the town’s…eccentricity. Apparently, tie-dye is alive and well in Bodalla. We found ourselves drawn to a shop called "Hippie Sticks"

. The walls of the building were painted with vibrant, psychedelic colors and slogans. As we passed by the entrance, there was a person checking out the garments on display

. Lisa was nearly tempted to buy something but, thankfully, common sense prevailed.
Bodalla is a surprising place, full of unexpected contrasts. From ice cream to historical churches to tie-dye, it certainly offered a memorable day.
