We’ve made our way to Congo, New South Wales, a place that manages to be both strikingly beautiful and remarkably quiet. The Congo Beach campground is a gem, providing easy access to a stunning stretch of coastline. We must admit, it's a far cry from the bustle of city life.

The beach itself is expansive, bordered by dramatic cliffs that seem to stand guard against the elements. The sand is firm underfoot, making for a pleasant walk, and the ocean air is crisp and invigorating. A small river empties onto the beach, creating a fascinating interplay of fresh and saltwater.

While enjoying the serenity of the campground, we encountered a local resident of the marsupial persuasion. A rather brazen wallaby seemed quite unfazed by our presence, casually munching on the greenery as if we were simply part of the landscape. We were quite taken with its apparent lack of concern. It sat upright with its paws clasped in front as if contemplating the meaning of life. Or perhaps just deciding which piece of grass to sample next.

The encounter provided a good chuckle and a delightful reminder of the diverse wildlife Australia has to offer.
