Tabourie Lake proved to be a worthwhile stop on our journey up the New South Wales coast. The small town offered a quiet respite after the bustle of more populated areas. We found the beaches to be particularly inviting, even on a day that threatened rain.
Our first impression of Tabourie Lake was formed by the expansive, sandy beach stretching out to meet a brooding sky.

The dark clouds added a dramatic backdrop to the already picturesque scene, the ocean a grey-blue expanse reflecting the sky above. We could see a small, forested island just offshore, no doubt a haven for local birdlife. We saw people strolling along the shoreline, and even though the weather was less than perfect, the beach was still a welcoming sight.
A short walk from the main beach brought us to an estuary area where the lake meets the ocean.

Here, we observed families enjoying the shallow water, wading and playing in the sand. The water was noticeably calmer here, making it a perfect spot for young children. We observed a well-maintained set of stairs leading down to the beach, a testament to the town's commitment to accessibility.
Further along the coast, we came across a rocky outcrop, providing a different perspective of the shoreline.

The rugged rocks contrasted beautifully with the soft sand and gentle waves. We watched as the tide lapped against the stone, creating small pools teeming with life. The view from here extended back across the lake entrance, offering a panorama of Tabourie Lake's natural beauty. The strong winds created a stunning scene, the rugged landscape a testament to the untamed beauty of the area. It reminded us that nature’s artistry is at its finest in places like this.
