After our pleasant visit to Berry, we decided to extend our stay in the Shoalhaven region, setting our sights on the equally appealing town of Milton. The town’s main street offers a step back in time, with numerous historical buildings that have been carefully preserved, and the atmosphere there immediately won us over.
Our walk through town took us past the majestic Milton Courthouse, a solid and imposing building which speaks of the area's long-standing role as a center for law and order.

The architecture is impressive, and we spent some time just admiring the details. It is a reminder of how architectural styles have evolved over the years.
Just a short walk away, we noticed the quaint Milton School of Arts.

The red brick paved area with the flowering trees in front adds charm to the building. The building’s date marker of 1871 proudly proclaims the buildings history.
Further along, our attention was drawn to another historical structure currently undergoing extensive renovations.

The building was shrouded in scaffolding, and its facade was partially obscured, but we could still get a sense of the building’s original grandeur. It's always heartening to see these old buildings getting a new lease on life, ensuring they'll be around for generations to come.
We truly enjoyed our little historical walking tour of Milton. We are excited to see what more adventures await us on our journey through the Shoalhaven.
