Leaving the familiar comforts of the caravan park behind, we decided a deeper immersion into the heart of Sydney was in order. So, we secured ourselves a hotel room in Haymarket, New South Wales. Sometimes, the best way to truly experience a city is to simply be *in* it, rather than observing from the periphery.
The following morning, fueled by a yearning for a proper breakfast, we set out on foot. A short stroll revealed a delightful little roadside cafe tucked away from the main thoroughfare.

It was the kind of place that seemed to hum with a quiet, local energy.
The atmosphere was inviting, with plenty of outdoor seating sheltered by large umbrellas. The menu, promising all the usual breakfast fare and some interesting lunch options, beckoned.

We took our time perusing the chalkboard menu, and then one of the daily specials advertised on the sidewalk board, making our selections.
It turned out to be, without exaggeration, one of the best breakfasts we've had in ages. A hearty meal, perfectly brewed coffee, and all served with a smile. It’s experiences like these that remind us why we love this country – a gem hidden in plain sight.
