We dove headfirst into the vibrant energy of Haymarket in New South Wales. Turns out we arrived on market day, so the sights and sounds of the bustling crowds were something to behold

. Market City was abuzz with locals and tourists alike, searching for that perfect trinket or treasure

. We find these places have so much character.
Leaving the market's controlled chaos, we ventured toward Circular Quay. The waterfront offered a welcome change of pace. The Sydney skyline presents an impressive vista

. A replica of a tall ship was moored nearby, so we decided to climb aboard.

We explored the decks and imagined what life would have been like for sailors centuries ago

. Lisa found it highly amusing watching me trying to get my nautical legs.
The views of the city from the quay are something else

. Before heading back towards Haymarket, we took a slow stroll through some of the small parks, which have been set up with Christmas markets

.
All that walking made us hungry, so we hunted down some authentic Japanese fare in Haymarket. Curry and noodles hit the spot, fueling us up for the rest of our explorations
