With our Christmas and New Year holiday firmly in sight, we pulled into Wollongong, New South Wales, eager to settle down for a few weeks. The caravan park will be our little slice of the Australian Outback for the next few weeks. After setting up camp, we decided a trip to the beach was in order.

The surf rolls in on a sunny day at Wollongong, New South Wales. The contrast between the wet and dry sand is quite striking.

We were curious to compare the coastline here to our familiar Western Australian shores. It was quite a contrast. The New South Wales coastline certainly has a more rugged character, with a much more active surf. Still, a beach is a beach, and a walk along the sand is always a welcome way to stretch the legs after a journey.
