Our time in Kangaroo Valley found us settled at Bendeela, New South Wales.

The campground was well-maintained, with expansive grassy sites. While we didn't secure a riverfront location, the Shoalhaven River itself was only a short walk from our temporary home. This proved perfectly acceptable. After all, the point is to experience the location, not just view it from a distance.
The weather was agreeable, if a touch changeable. The clouds rolled in and out, providing a dramatic backdrop to the valley. We appreciate the verdant landscape, so different from our usual West Australian scenery. The sounds of the bush – bird calls and the rustling of leaves – filled the air. Peaceful.

The Shoalhaven River looked particularly inviting and, as promised, wasn't too far away.
Our stay at Bendeela was a pleasant interlude on our journey. It served as a reminder that sometimes the best experiences are the ones that require a little bit of walking.
