Glen Davis, New South Wales, offered us a day filled with unexpected encounters. It's not often one finds the local fauna so keen to participate in one's travel plans, but we certainly weren't complaining.

The morning light illuminated the towering cliffs surrounding the valley, painting them in a warm, golden hue.

This was a striking view to wake up to. We ambled around, enjoying the tranquility of the early hours.

Later, we strolled alongside the river, its sandy banks a testament to the powerful forces of nature that have shaped this landscape.

The scene was quite picturesque.

However, our leisurely explorations soon took a turn when we spotted a rather imposing Goanna lumbering across the grass.

It seemed utterly unconcerned by our presence, its tongue flicking as it searched for its next meal. It was a truly impressive sight, and we gave it a wide berth.

Not to be outdone, a kangaroo with a joey in its pouch decided to grace us with its presence.

It observed us with a mixture of curiosity and nonchalance. The little one seemed equally unimpressed by our presence, peeking out from the pouch with an air of mild amusement. It certainly gave us a good chuckle! All in all, it was a grand day out, courtesy of the local residents.
