We’ve learned that travel often involves a certain amount of… relocation. This time around, the camp drafting in Orange decided to grace the showgrounds with their presence, which meant we gracefully shuffled ourselves and our belongings to the council-run caravan park. It’s all part of the adventure, really.

While we initially sought the showgrounds in Orange for the convenience of its proximity and being free, the caravan park offered a different perspective on the town. And, to be fair, it was slightly less dusty. We do appreciate a good equestrian event, though, and the sight of skilled riders and horses is always impressive.

We observed one gentleman on horseback casually resting against the fence, looking rather like he was waiting for his takeaway order. The others seemed to be taking a break in the warm Orange sun. It's a world away from our quiet life in Western Australia.

We decided to wander back towards the showground later in the afternoon. The atmosphere was certainly more relaxed with the main events concluded.

Horses gather at the arena after the camp drafting event in Bowen. Perhaps they're sharing stories of their day.

It was quite tranquil in the fading light.
