We thought the open road stretched before us, an endless ribbon of bitumen unspooling across the heart of Australia. Turns out, even well-laid plans can hit a snag, a rather expensive, turbocharged snag. We found ourselves unexpectedly delayed in Orange, New South Wales, not admiring the local scenery as planned, but rather staring down the barrel of a major mechanical issue.
A disconcerting rattle emanating from the engine suggested something was amiss, and a quick check by the local mechanic confirmed our fears: the turbocharger had given up the ghost. Not ideal when you're relying on said turbocharger to haul your home-on-wheels through the countryside.

Fortunately, the mechanic in nearby Orange, Haigh Truck & 4WD Repairs, was able to diagnose the problem quickly and source a replacement turbocharger. Ordering it wasn't cheap, and we can see the final bill, but the important thing is getting back on the road. Delays like this are just a part of the adventure.
