A brief sojourn brought us to the beautiful village of Millthorpe, New South Wales, a place that seems to have perfected the art of small-town charm.

The old railway station stands proudly, a testament to a bygone era, its architecture a delightful reminder of the importance of rail in the region's history.
We enjoyed a leisurely wander around, immediately noticing the manicured gardens that spill onto the footpaths. The residents clearly take pride in their town, and it shows.

Even the simplest brick cottage is adorned with vibrant roses and perfectly trimmed hedges, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The main street is a delight, lined with quaint shops that beckon you to step inside.

The architecture is remarkably well-preserved, with the buildings whispering tales of generations past.
The flower beds lining the walkways overflowed with colour, creating a truly picturesque scene.

It's the kind of place where you can happily lose yourself for an afternoon, simply soaking in the ambience.

Of course, we couldn't resist popping into a few of the shops, browsing the gifts, vintage items, and antiques.

Having explored Millthorpe to our satisfaction, we found ourselves back in Orange. A sugar craving hit, so we headed straight for Split Milk Bar. We decided a coffee and ice cream were definitely in order.

It was a sweet ending to a charming day, leaving us refreshed and ready for the next leg of our journey.
