After finding ourselves unexpectedly extended in the Orange area, we thought a bit of outdoor meandering was in order. And what better place than the Orange Botanic Garden in nearby Bletchington, New South Wales?

Entering the garden, it's immediately apparent that a great deal of care and thought has been put into the landscaping. The variety of plants is impressive. There are meticulously manicured beds alongside more naturalistic settings. We spotted vibrant purple irises catching the sunlight.

The open lawn areas, framed by stands of birch trees, offer a tranquil space for reflection.

It’s a place to slow down and simply breathe.
The formal gardens, with their precisely trimmed hedges and gravel pathways, evoke a sense of timeless elegance.

We enjoyed wandering through the rose arbour, breathing in the fragrant air and admiring the climbing blooms.

Around every corner, there's a new vista, a different colour palette, and a different texture to appreciate. We were particularly impressed by the diverse collection of rhododendrons, some with fiery red blossoms, others with deep, regal purple.

After our walk, we rewarded ourselves with a coffee at the garden's cafe. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming.

It was the perfect way to end a delightful morning exploring Bletchington's botanical haven. The gardens are a credit to the area.
