Our travels often lead us to unexpected encounters, moments of quiet observation amidst the grand landscapes. Today in Orange, New South Wales, while undertaking the decidedly unglamorous task of refreshing the toilet cassette, we were treated to just such a moment.

The mundane tasks of caravanning, as essential as they are, occasionally offer the most unexpected delights. There we were, dutifully emptying and cleaning, when a flash of vibrant colour caught our eye. We've learned over the years that life on the road demands an ability to multi-task.

Darting around on the grass were Crimson Rosellas. These striking birds, with their brilliant red plumage, were a welcome distraction from our appointed chore. They flitted about, seemingly unfazed by our presence, pecking at the ground for seeds and insects.

These bold birds are definitely more colourful than what we were doing!

It's these small, unexpected encounters that truly enrich our travels. The crimson chorus of the Rosellas in Glenroi was a reminder that even in the midst of the most mundane tasks, there is always beauty to be found, a moment to be savoured, a photo to be taken. And it certainly made cleaning the toilet cassette feel less like a chore.
