We rolled into Mendooran on October 21st with a specific target in mind: Blue Sky Cheese. We’d heard whispers, murmurs, even outright boasts about the quality of their cheese, particularly the one sharing the business's name. Lisa is rather partial to a good blue cheese, and we always enjoy supporting local producers.

Unfortunately, our quest for curds hit a snag.

The Blue Sky Cheese shop in Mendooran stands silent, its promise of dairy delight unfulfilled. At least it looked pretty in the afternoon sun.

The shop was closed. Now, we've experienced our fair share of closed doors on our travels, but this felt particularly cruel. The building itself, a quaint structure painted in shades of cream and blue, practically oozed artisanal charm. It was as if the very air around Mendooran was teasing us with the promise of creamy, tangy goodness. The sign proudly proclaims "Hand Made in Mendooran," a statement that only amplified our disappointment. We peered through the window, mentally cataloging the cheeses we would have bought, given the chance. We even considered knocking on the door, but decided against it. Some things are best left to fate, or perhaps a return trip next time we are rambling.
