Dunedoo, New South Wales, proved to be a delightful, if somewhat quirky, stop on our journey. The main draw, of course, is the silo art.

It's impossible to miss as you approach the town – a massive tribute to Winx, the champion mare, and her equally enthusiastic handler. The sheer scale of the artwork is impressive and brings a splash of colour to the landscape. It is wonderfully done!
Beyond the silos, we discovered some other interesting examples of local art. A rather forlorn, but no less interesting, figure was painted on an old railway shed.

The somewhat doleful expression made us wonder what journey this painted traveler was on. Nearby, a metal owl sculpture stood sentinel amongst the greenery, adding a touch of whimsy to the town's park.

It looked as if it had been fashioned from spare parts, making it a unique and charming creation.
After our art appreciation tour, it was time for a more practical pursuit: lunch. The bakery beckoned with the promise of a decent pie.

We opted for a lamb meat pie, and can confirm it was a genuinely satisfying example of the genre. Flaky pastry, generous filling – exactly what we needed to fuel our onward travels.
