Our morning at Wambool, New South Wales, began with a rather spectacular sunrise. The kind that paints the sky in hues you only see on postcards, or perhaps the occasional Bob Ross painting. The clouds, tinged with orange and gold, were low enough to illuminate the grazing sheep in the paddocks.

They didn't seem particularly impressed, but we certainly were. The stillness of the morning, broken only by the occasional bleating, was quite something.
And then, just as we were finishing our cup of tea, we had a visitor. Not the human kind. A rather large kangaroo decided to hop into view, seemingly as surprised to see us as we were to see it. It paused, a perfect mid-air suspension, before deciding we weren’t a threat and bounded off across the field.

Apparently, a retired couple enjoying their morning coffee is not high on a kangaroo's list of concerns. Wambool, it seems, has a knack for delivering unexpected moments of natural Australian charm. Now, we are off to the next adventure.
