Lake Wyangan, New South Wales, gifted us another spectacular sunrise. It’s becoming a pleasant habit, though we may need to invest in stronger coffee to drag ourselves out of bed each morning. The early start is undeniably worth it, though. The serenity of the water, the vibrant colors reflecting across the still surface – it's a photographer’s dream, and even we can manage a decent shot or two in those conditions

.
We spent the remainder of the day observing the comings and goings at the Lake Wyangan recreation area. It's interesting to watch other travelers setting up camp, comparing their rigs and travel strategies, though generally from a respectable distance, of course. There is a great sense of community. The campground, nestled amongst the trees right by the water's edge, was relatively busy with vans and campers

. It's comforting to be amongst fellow travellers, all with tales of adventure and the open road. We often reflect on our own adventures over the years.
Later, as the sun began to dip below the horizon, we took another stroll along the lake's edge. The view from the end of the pier as the sun was rising was a moment worth remembering

. It’s moments like these, surrounded by the peace and beauty of places like Lake Wyangan, that make all the planning, packing, and early mornings worthwhile.
