After the torrential downpour that greeted us upon arrival, Tocumwal, New South Wales, redeemed itself handsomely. The sun emerged, drying the streets and, more importantly, lifting our spirits.

The campground was bustling with activity, a small city of temporary residents all seeking a bit of respite and relaxation along the Murray.
Deciding to stretch our legs, we ventured out for a walk into town. It's amazing what a difference a bit of sunshine makes. The Murray River, which had looked rather menacing the previous day, was now a serene expanse of water reflecting the clear blue sky.

The gum trees lining the bank stood tall and proud, their leaves shimmering in the sunlight. The air was clean and fresh, a welcome change.
We eventually made our way into the heart of Tocumwal. It's a pleasant town with a relaxed atmosphere. In a playful mood, we found ourselves face-to-gills with a very large, and rather impressive, Murray Cod statue.

While we've caught bigger, we can't deny the craftsmanship. A fine end to a rather nice day in Tocumwal. It's moments like these that make all the travel worthwhile.
