We steered toward Tungamah, a town justifiably proud of its own artistic contribution to the Victorian silo art trail. It's become quite the thing, these painted silos. We've even heard tales of spirited debates erupting amongst the locals regarding which town boasts the superior artwork. We remain neutral, of course, appreciating each for its unique charm and artistic merit.
The Tungamah silos feature the distinctive work of Western Australian artist Sobrane Simcock.

The silos are an undeniable celebration of local birdlife. The Galahs, Kookaburras, Fairy Wrens, and Brolgas are depicted with a remarkable eye for detail. The artist's use of color is particularly striking; the vibrant hues of the birds stand in stark contrast to the muted tones of the concrete silos, creating a visually arresting effect. The detail is incredible. We would love to have seen this being done. Perhaps our next adventure will be the silo art in WA!
