Our arrival in Tocumwal, New South Wales, was less than triumphant. The heavens opened, providing a rather enthusiastic welcome. It seemed the Murray River was determined to make its presence known, even if it meant soaking everything in its path.

A rainy day view of the Murray River from underneath our awning in Tocumwal, New South Wales. Still beautiful, even when wet.

We find ourselves quite cozy under the awning, watching the rain pitter-patter on the river's surface. The nearby trees seem to be enjoying the refreshing drink, their leaves glistening under the grey sky. There's a certain charm to be found in the muted tones of the landscape; the brown earth, the grey river, and the silver sky create a peaceful, if somewhat soggy, scene.

The rain, while persistent, hasn't dampened our spirits. We've learned to embrace the unexpected detours and weather changes of our travels. After all, even a rainy day in Tocumwal is better than a sunny day at home spent mowing the lawn. We hear the birds still chirping in the trees, and the distant sound of the water lapping against the bank.
