Our journey through Victoria has taken us to many small towns, each with its unique charm. Goorambat, Victoria, initially presented itself as another dot on the map, its silo art, by Jimmy Dvate, seeming good but perhaps not quite up to the high standards we’ve come to expect from this region. The cold wind certainly wasn't encouraging us to linger.

However, a walk to photograph the old pub, currently undergoing some repairs, provided a rewarding surprise. As we turned our heads, the light caught the silos in a new way, revealing the truly exceptional artistry. What had initially seemed a simple depiction suddenly sprang to life, the details far surpassing our first impression.
The highlight of the Goorambat silos is undoubtedly the Clydesdales. The skill in capturing their power and gentleness is remarkable. The way Jimmy Dvate has rendered their muscles and the intricate harnesses is truly something special.

It's a powerful image, a testament to the role these magnificent animals played in the region’s agricultural history. A reminder of a time when horsepower was exactly that. We were glad we took a second look; otherwise, we would have missed one of our favourite silo artworks so far.
