After a restful night, the morning found us eager to explore the town before moving on.
We discovered a rather impressive, albeit rusty, old shed standing sentinel on the edge of town. Its corrugated iron skin, weathered by years of sun and wind, speaks volumes about the agricultural history of this area. It’s a stark reminder of simpler times, or perhaps harder times, depending on your perspective.

The town isn’t stuck in the past, though. We were pleasantly surprised by the bursts of street art scattered throughout. One particular piece caught our eye: a grain silo adorned with a very lifelike painting of a lizard. The scale of it is quite something. It’s amazing what a bit of colour and creativity can do to transform an otherwise ordinary object.

Before leaving Woomelang, we took a stroll along the edge of a local waterway. The still, reflective surface of the water was incredibly peaceful. The only sound was the gentle chirping of birds hidden amongst the reeds. It was a perfect way to collect our thoughts and prepare for the next leg of our journey. Woomelang’s quiet charm was a welcome change of pace. The tranquil water's edge provided a calming contrast to the metal structures, rounding out the experience of the day.

We said farewell to Woomelang on September 23, 2024, feeling refreshed and ready to embrace whatever adventures lay ahead.
