After our Woomelang wanderings, we set course for the Shire of Northern Grampians, Victoria, seeking a peaceful respite at Teddington Reservoir. We quickly discovered that the region offered a serene contrast to the expansive plains we'd just traversed. The air was noticeably crisper, carrying the scent of eucalyptus and damp earth.

Teddington Reservoir is a welcome sight. The campground is spacious. We certainly couldn't complain about having our pick of sites, although one might question our decision to choose the one furthest from, well, everything. The silence is almost deafening, broken only by the occasional call of a kookaburra and the rustling of leaves. We're becoming quite adept at identifying native bird calls. Some days it feels like we're turning into twitchers – much to Lisa's amusement.
The red dirt is a stark contrast to the grey-green foliage surrounding us. We can see the reservoir glinting through the trees, though a walk to the water's edge is definitely on the cards for tomorrow. For now, we're content to simply sit and soak in the tranquility. It’s moments like these that remind us why we embarked on this adventure in the first place.

It's a far cry from the hustle and bustle of Perth, that's for sure.
