Following our quiet time in Nyah, we decided to press onward, making a short stopover in Swan Hill. We find that even the briefest of pauses can offer a surprising glimpse into a town's character.

The town's location along the Murray is immediately obvious. The river dictates the pace of life here, offering respite from the inland heat. We spent some time just observing the waterway and enjoying the shade from the abundant trees.
The old lift bridge across the Murray River is a striking feature. It stands as a testament to an earlier era of transportation.

It's the kind of structure we appreciate – functional, yet undeniably beautiful in its own right. We always wonder about the stories behind these landmarks.
We also took a quick stroll through a local park. It was peaceful, with families enjoying the sunshine.

It had a charming old-fashioned gazebo, the kind of place where we imagine local bands might play on a summer evening. It was a welcome break before continuing on our journey. While our stop was brief, Swan Hill left a pleasant impression.
