The Grampians never disappoint. After a morning spent exploring the natural beauty of the region, we decided a little treat was in order. A quick drive into Halls Gap revealed a very enticing option: Coolas Ice Creamery.

Halls Gap itself is quite picturesque, nestled as it is amidst the stunning mountain ranges.

The main street has that relaxed, holiday vibe that's hard to resist. We opted for a couple of scoops, one in a cup and one in a cone.

As we sat enjoying our ice cream, we were quickly joined by the locals. Not the human kind, mind you, but the feathered variety. A vibrant crimson rosella hopped right onto the bench next to us, clearly hoping for a taste.

We resisted the urge to share, of course – not good for the birds, and probably frowned upon by the local council – but it certainly made for an entertaining afternoon in Halls Gap. We do love it when wildlife wanders into our sphere.
