Arriving in Horsham, Victoria, we immediately noticed a change of pace. The Wimmera region is known for its wheat, and the town reflects that agricultural heritage. But there's more to Horsham than just crops, as evidenced by the incredible art we encountered.
The vibrant silo art by Smug certainly dominates the landscape.

It’s hard to miss. A colossal mural depicting a local farmer tending to the land stretches across the silos, blending seamlessly with the adjacent buildings which are themselves covered in murals. The scale is impressive, a fitting tribute to the region's deep connection to the land. We spent a good while admiring the detail and the artistry involved. It's a far cry from the plain concrete structures one might expect.
Horsham manages to balance its agricultural identity with a clear appreciation for art and culture. It makes for a surprisingly interesting stop. It's always gratifying to discover unexpected gems in regional Australia.
